Peace by Caroline Gorka
A candid of a woman I saw today on Federation Square, Melbourne ..the square was a hive of activity, with a busker one side of her, and people cheering on the cricket on the big screen the other. / This lady was just sitting quietly, taking it all in, and not being swayed by either. The smoking man (take two series) by David Petranker
You may ask what is the take two series, well its basically work that i have done in the beginning of last year which i either saw unfit to put on or i missed all together. Out of the 50,000 shot that I have taken I have choosen 20. I was sitting in the car and had my gun (200 mm lens) in my lap and I could see this old dude really enjoying his cigarette.

Smoking Kid by richardseah
This is one of my all time favourite photos… I had mentioned it in my recent journal entry about featured vs un-featured as being one of my most viewed images at JPG, with over 1,000 views there. Then I realised I had not posted this image here, so here it is. Let’s see how many views this image will generate over here on Red Bubble! The story behind this pix is this: This Young Smoker – a member of the Black Lahu tribe in Northern Thailand – must have been not more than five or six years old. He has four cigarettes on him, the fourth being tucked above his other ear. And the interesting additional information is that he wanted to beat me after I took his photos. He had asked me for money, but because I did not have small change left, I turned him down. He then threw stones at me and tried to beat me with a stick! I thought to myself, this kid would probably grow up to become a drug warlord at the Golden Triangle along the Thai / Burmese border. He would be old enough for that role today as this image was shot in 1983. —

Musical Soldier by Bill Gamblin
This is a photo of a member of the Troy University Marching Band. I don’t know why I keep going back to this photo, but I love it and feel it is very good and an excellent candid capture while standing on the sidelines of the New Orleans Bowl. I used a Nikon D100 with the the ISO at 800, f5, 1/640 and 112mm
